Following the revised Government advice to stay alert and work from home if you can do, Build Team remain open with our team members working remotely. We have reduced our opening hours to 9-6pm Monday to Friday during the crisis period, and are available to advise clients - new and existing - during these hours. In terms of Build projects, the current Government advice is that construction projects can continue during the lockdown period providing social distancing measures can be adhered to. We have carried out Detailed Risk Assessments (DRAs) for all of our "live" sites to identify what needs to be implemented to ensure ongoing projects are fully compliant with Government rules and also to maintain continuity in site operations - eg. supply chain constraints or issues. We are also encouraging all contractors to travel to/from site by motor vehicle and only use public transport if absolutely necessary. We are pleased to report that the overwhelming majority of our site teams are operating in accordance with this advice. 

For clients at the beginning of the Design process, we have developed a "Covid-Secure" survey method. We will attend the measured survey wearing protective PPE, undertake the required measurements and then set up a video call following this visit to discuss the design brief in more depth.

This month (May) has been particularly busy in terms of new customer enquiries and we have had a mini flurry of homeowners instructing us to commence the Design Phase following the lockdown. We recognise that with a deep recession looming, homeowners are understandably cautious and also concerned about costs. The good news is that we have spare capacity amongst our build teams right now and we are maintaining a very close eye on costs - ensuring that our contract sums remain lean and affordable during these challenging times. If you are looking to get started with your build, you may find that in terms of value for money - there has (and perhaps never will) be a better time!
