The art of model making

Model making is a great way to visualise a build, similar to 3D visualisation, it is a method used regularly by architecture graduates to present their ideas and projects.

Our design studio has constructed a typical wraparound extension using grey card and white mounting board to be able to show clients a tangible representation of how their side return extension could look.

Similar to 3D visualisation, the model took 5 hours to construct, but it’s a pretty impressive piece.

The model was constructed by Amy O’Sullivan, who is our Architectural Assistant. Amy graduated in 2014 with a degree in Architecture from Cork Centre for Architectural Education in University College Cork.
