A handful of Design Team members visited the new Pavilion at the Dulwich Picture Gallery on Friday 16 June.

Armed with a glass of Pimms and an eye for detail, the team enjoyed inspecting the architectural splendour and structural design of the Pavilion. We were most impressed by the roof of the Pavilion which is support by just six low profile steel columns rising almost invisibly from the ground and cleverly concealed in the core of the reflective glass panels. 

We also listened to a presentation from IF_DO, the trio of young architects from Camberwell who won the competition to design and oversee the installation of the Pavilion. Amazingly, the whole project was executed in just 5 months - and this included the process of obtaining planning consent right through to stocking the all important bar. No pressure on the design and build of your typical Side Return then!
