Supporting Groundwork London

Build Team are proud to announce that its founder, Dan Davidson, has recently joined the Board of Trustees of Groundwork London.

Groundwork was founded in 1982 and launched to the public by the then Environment Minister, Michael Heseltine. It was set up as radical experiment to bring together communities, businesses and government to improve the quality of life and promote sustainable development in areas that had become run-down and neglected. Big corporates such as BP, Shell, Barclays and M&S were early adopters of the Groundwork philosophy and the charity grew rapidly as result of attracting a diverse pool of funding and engaging a wide variety of stakeholders.

Three decades on, the core values of Groundwork remain unchanged and the organisation continues to work tirelessly to build partnerships which change places and change lives. Groundwork London delivers over 500 projects each year which focus on the 3 strategic pillars of Improving People’s Prospects, Promoting Greener Living and Creating Better Places. These projects take place across London, but particularly so in the boroughs where Build Team also operate: Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham, Wandsworth and Hammersmith & Fulham.
